In collaboration with Delft University of Technology, ‘Armon Products’ have developed a sophisticated range of dynamic arm supports which can enhance arm and shoulder function in two main situations:
1. Workplace – to promote comfort and facilitate prolonged activity for professional users.
2. Life enablement – to restore function to people with significantly compromised arm function, often due to neurological problems.
A dynamic arm support is an assistive technology product, with a unique mechanism that compensates for the weight of the user’s arm, making the arm feels weightless.
The arm support does not take over any function, the user makes the movements themselves. The Armon simply supports the arm, however unlike a normal armrest, the Armon will dynamically ‘follow’ the position of the arm through space, providing full support in any position.
All Armon products are bespoke to the user. We offer a full assessment with advice on size and model. The supports themselves are all easily adjustable, to compensate for arm weight and weakness and make the user’s arm feel as though it is operating in zero gravity
We have four different arm supports, listed here in order of ascending in functionality:
Generally, the less strength the user has, the more advanced the arm support should be. All arm supports can be mounted on a floor stand, office chair, work chair (such as the Bambach Saddle Seat), manual or electrical wheelchair. The Armon Edero can also be mounted on a table or desk.
Many occupations, such as surgeons or dentists, have to work with their arms outstretched for long periods which can produce fatigue and discomfort. The situation can be worsened if there is a co-existing medical condition (even a relatively mild condition such as rotator cuff injury can cause severe, even incapacitating, restrictions on certain activities). In extreme cases the sufferer may be unable to work – the Armon dynamic arm may offer a solution which allows the user to continue with their profession.
Examples of conditions in which the Armon dynamic arm support may help:
~ Repetitive Strain Injury
~ Rotator Cuff Injuries
~ Cervical pain
~ Thoracic and Lumbar pain
~ Arthritis, including Rheumatoid Arthritis
~ Spinal stenosis
~ Fatigue
~ Postural problems
~ Mild neurological deficits
~ CVA
~ Mastectomy
For many professionals a ‘Bambach-Edero’* can represent a particularly effective combination for a healthy, comfortable working posture with potential long-term health benefits. Call us to discuss your needs and whether you would like an assessment.

Even where there has been a profound loss of arm function, the dynamic arm may enhance movement and therefore facilitate many kinds of daily activities, restoring independence, freedom, self-respect and quality of life. To benefit from the dynamic arm support, the user only needs some strength in their fingers and some flexibility in their joints: the arm support will eliminate gravity and the user can do the rest.
In this context, Armon dynamic arm supports can assist with:
Examples of conditions which may be helped by Armon Products dynamic arm supports include:
~ Muscle disease
~ Neurological disorders like MS, MND, ALS, SMA
~ Brain injury, stroke, CVA, TBI
~ Spinal cord injury
~ Arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis
Armon dynamic arm rests offer gravity-eliminated movement in all planes. This will help to relieve symptoms and optimise arm function with the potential to transform lives.
