The SomaLift is designed to help people with reduced mobility raise themselves to a standing position, to use a toilet safely and comfortably.
It combines practicality with user-friendly features so that, at the touch of a button, the battery powered motor will gently raise the toilet seat helping the user as they stand up (or sit down). The seat moves with the body’s natural standing motion.
The SomaLift is easily installed around an existing toilet, without any need for fixings.

The SomaLift will assist a user in several ways:
Increased Independence: the SomaLift will help with independent toileting, maintaining personal autonomy and dignity.
Comfort and Convenience: If someone struggles with standing, this can be stressful and sometimes uncomfortable. The powered rise function, together with the adjustable height and ergonomic design of the SomaLift will promote ease and comfort.
Safety: the bathroom environment can be dangerous for those with reduced mobility and poor balance. By providing controlled and stable assistance with standing and sitting, the SomaLift can help reduce the risk of falls.
Moreover, those with poor mobility are at risk of finding themselves unable to get up from the toilet and, if assistance is not available, they could be stuck for long periods.
SomaLift - No backrest
The product is ideal for anyone who struggles with sitting and standing. This may include a wide range of neurological conditions, which result in muscle weakness in the legs or arms - for instance:
MS | stroke | Parkinson’s | spinal cord weakness, etc
Non-neurogical conditions which may give rise to the need for the toilet might include:
arthritis | hip replacement | heart problems | obesity
However, if you are in doubt, we would strongly advise you seek advice from a health professional and we are always happy to provide advice and an assessment.
Carers will also benefit from the SomaLift, by reducing the degree of toileting assistance - minimising physical strain, reducing manual handling risks as well as potentially cutting care time and costs.
The SomaLift is suitable for use in someone's own home as well as in hospital, rehabilitation or care environments.

A. We have a demo model in our showroom and assessments in your own home are also possible.
A. The SomaLift has very compact and should fit into most bathrooms, but if you're not sure you can ask us for advice.
Q. The compact design should fit over all toilets, including standard oval shaped ones seen in most houses.
A. If you have tendency to lean to one side and are very unsteady on your feet we recommend fixing the toilet lift to the floor (particularly if your toilet lift is fitted with armrests).
A. The number of ‘lifts’ from a full battery charge will depend on a number of factors, including the weight of the user, the age of the battery and the number of times the battery has been charged over its lifetime. As an approximate guide, a new, fully charged battery pack will manage approximately 100 lifts (up and down) for a 130kg (20.5 stone) user.
A. Raise the toilet seat to its maximum height or pull the toilet lift away from the toilet to gain best access to clean the toilet lift.
Use mild, non-abrasive bathroom cleaners. If the toilet lift requires disinfection, a soft cloth can be used to wipe down surfaces with an antibacterial cleaning agent (as you would for other domestic surfaces, such as baths and washbasins). Afterwards, wipe over with a damp cloth and then dry with a dry cloth.
The toilet lift should only be cleaned by hand.
