External steps leading to a porch, front door, or garden are often just as difficult to manage as indoor staircases, particularly when they are wet, covered in leaves, uneven, or poorly lit. For people with reduced mobility, outdoor steps can be a safety risk and a barrier to independence.

In some cases a ramp will be the best solution, but for some people an outdoor stairlift provides a safe, reliable solution. Designed to perform just like indoor stairlifts, but built to withstand the British weather, they allow you to move freely outdoors while remaining fully supported and secure.

At Fortuna, we supply Handicare outdoor stairlifts, based on their trusted systems: the Handicare 1000 and Handicare 4000. All outdoor models are weather-resistant, UV-protected and supplied with waterproof covers to shield them from rain, frost and dirt - they're built to last for many years with only occasional servicing.

For added safety, outdoor stairlifts are fitted with anti-slip footrests, making it easier and safer to get on and off the lift.
