Troubleshooting for Mobility Scooters

If you're experiencing problems with your mobility scooter , we would would suggest working through the following list of questions. If this doesn't solve the problem, you can e-mail as at Alternatively call us on 020 8805 2020 or complete the following form and we'll get back to you:

Q. When did you notice a problem?
Q. Did something happen?
Q. Is there any unusual noise?


Q. Is the control panel lighting up?
If not, it may be a problem with the batteries > Press re-set fuse on the battery pack (see below)
If this does not resolve the problem > Contact Fortuna

Q. Is the scooter moving slowly?
There may be a problem with the batteries

Q. Is the scooter not moving?
Check that the 'freewheel lever' is in the correct position (see below)   


Diagnostic Codes

Flashes or Beeps


 1 - Battery voltage is low

 > charge the battery ASAP

 2 - Battery charge is low

 > charge the battery

 3 - Battery voltage is too high

 > unplug scooter then re-start

 4 - Current limit time out

 > turn the scooter off for a few minute then back on

 5 - Freewheel lever is in wrong position

 > correct the position

 6 - Throttle Control lever is in wrong position

 > Switch the scooter off and on again without touching the throttle (see below)   

 7 - Speed control

 > Contact Fortuna

 8 - Motor Volts

 > Contact Fortuna

 9 - Other

 > Contact Fortuna
