During a site visit to the property long discussions were had with the client and her 2 sons to determine the best way to achieve the aims, and where within the downstairs of the property the wetroom could be positioned to cause both the minimum disruption to the client and the least loss of space. A decision was made that the best place would be to utilize a section of the kitchen adjacent to the downstairs WC with access from the hall.

The kitchen cupboards, fridge and all open electrical outlets were removed within the area to be used were removed and disposed of. A stud wall was built across the kitchen with insulation to help minimise noise transmission and the outside wall was battened boarded and insulated to improve the warmth of the room. The wall on the kitchen side was decorated to match existing as closely as possible. The new room was fitted out as a wetroom, the door was changed for a solid one with emergency pivot hinges, the shower area was boarded out with Mermaid board panels and the rest of the room painted white. A dual head bar shower was fitted along with a level access shower deck and wall mounted folding shower seat. All connections to waste and hot/cold water were made and a heated towel was added to the room piped into the existing central heating. The floor was completely covered in Altro non-slip vinyl, final decoration was carried out and the site tidied and cleaned.
All electrics were carried out as required including the installation of an extractor fan and sealed LED light. An extra small RCD consumer unit had to be fitted to give the new wetroom RCD protection and all certificates were sent to client on completion.
