Cause: Partial blockage caused by build-up of hair and other material.
The Shower Waste Pump (Figure 1) does not require any major maintenance, but it should be cleaned once a month:
remove foreign matter from the pump blades (Figure 2) on the underside of the pump cylinder (and all other areas)
Scrub the area around the pump with a long handled stiff brush. This will reduce the build up of dirt and odours.
Check that the small bore hole adjacent to the pump blades is clean (Figure 2)

Contact us if:
The pump fails after you have checked power and carried out cleaning.
You suspect an electrical fault.
There is a persistent leak or internal damage not resolved by cleaning.
