Introducing Our Trusted Assessor Service
At Fortuna, we understand that finding the right mobility, seating, or daily living equipment can feel overwhelming. Every person’s needs, home environment, and goals are different, and choosing the right solution requires careful consideration.
That is why we are pleased to introduce our Trusted Assessor Service — a service designed to support families, carers, schools, care providers, and occupational therapists in identifying suitable equipment solutions in a timely and person-centred way.
What is a Trusted Assessor?
A Trusted Assessor is a trained member of our team who can carry out an assessment to help identify the most appropriate equipment or seating solution for an individual. The assessment considers the person’s needs, daily routine, environment, transfer requirements, and intended use of the equipment.
Our Trusted Assessor service is designed to complement — not replace — occupational therapy assessment. Where a person’s needs are complex, clinically significant, or require specialist postural or risk assessment, we will recommend referral to an occupational therapist or another appropriate healthcare professional.
Why Trusted Assessment Matters
Making the right choice of equipment is essential for safety, comfort, independence, and quality of life. An assessment helps ensure that equipment is not only suitable in theory, but also practical for the individual in their everyday environment.
A Trusted Assessor can help by:
-
Listening to the individual’s needs, preferences, and goals.
-
Understanding the home, school, or care environment.
-
Identifying potential equipment options.
-
Providing product advice and specifications.
-
Arranging trials where appropriate.
-
Supporting families and professionals throughout the process.
Our Trusted Assessor service provides a clear, collaborative process to help identify suitable mobility, seating, and daily living equipment. Following the assessment, we recommend suitable options and provide advice on specifications, product suitability, and trial requirements.
Where an occupational therapist is involved, we work closely with them to agree the most appropriate solution. We can also arrange equipment trials, delivery, setup, adjustments, servicing, repairs, and ongoing support.
